Mother & Son

A mother's heart is a patchwork of love.  ~Author Unknown

Who ran to help me when I fell,
And would some pretty story tell,
Or kiss the place to make it well?
My mother.

Drive to the big D!

Kent, Snowflake and I were in Dallas two weekends ago for my nephew's belated birthday party and a family gathering! Kent and Snowflake picked me up from work and we headed to Dallas. We made really good time and only stopped once!

So thankful that our dog loves car rides!

Can't you tell? I love when she smiles. :)

Snowflake has her next drive to Dallas in 2 weeks for my friend's wedding.

There is still a lot work that I want done. I need to buy curtains for the guest and master bedroom and new comforters for the guest and master bedroom as well. Also my dad is going to help us this fall close in part of the garage for a laundry room and a pantry and lay grass in the backyard. Because as you can see it's basically all dirt in the backyard.

So fortunate that this place was available when we needed it. I love it and cannot wait to get the house the way I would like it this fall.

Better late then never, right?

I never shared how our move went, so here it is!

Thursday, May 26th -
The day before we leave for San Antonio! Kent and I rented a 17' U-Haul moving van that cost $306 for 3 days. Kent loaded the van with very little help from me. I was inside packing the little that was left and cleaning up. Snowflake was running crazy with all the empty space she had.

Friday, May 27th -
The drive to San Antonio from Arlington is only 5 hours but it took us close to 8 hours. I believe we made 3-4 stops for gas, potty breaks and lunch. Gas was a killer in the van. Specially when the gas was around $3.65, if I remember correctly.

My dad met us in Austin to follow-us to SA to help Kent unload the van.

Finally we arrived at our new home in SA around 6 or 7 pm. We unloaded the whole van and even had time to drop it off so it wouldn't be sitting in our drive way over night. Where was Snowflake during this hour? She was outside enjoying her backyard.

And, this is pretty much how it went. I hope our family will never have to move that far again...

*Pictures of the place we call our home will be posted here in the next week!*

I'm going to miss this..

Sorry this is late but when I get home from work I never get back on the computer until I return to work the next day. I usually do all my internet things on the weekends!

But here are my farewell pictures from my last day at Dillard's:

Best Photo Ever!

My brother-in-law snapped this photo right in time! This is my favorite photo not only because it's of my nephew and niece but it shows how beautiful the Destin, FL beach is!

* *More photos to continue!!* *

Cannot wait until Kent and I will be able to spend our Summer vacation there!
